Improvements

As you can tell, I'm changing things up here on my blog. I'm going for a more user-friendly site. Soon the links at the left will take you to photo galleries where you can browse through past creations. On the right will be my Etsy mini which will take you to my etsy store, which is where *most* of my in-stock creations live.

Let me know what you think of the changes!

I am proud to announce that I am now in the fabric business! I placed my first order yesterday of 14 different Amy Butler prints, due to arrive sometime in the next two weeks. See the photo album for available prints. I will be selling by-the-yard as well as using these in my own creations. There are even some boyish colors and prints!

Stay tuned for a new Etsy shop featuring these fabrics!

New Boutique Outfit

I've been really working lately on getting a lot of inventory for the Rose Festival Show. I got my confirmation papers for that this week, and got out my new canopy and put it up in the garage, testing it out for the big show. I've got to work on getting the lattice boards treated with paint and new hinges for displaying things under the canopy. My main prodcucts are going to be the hairbows and burp cloths, but I was itching to do some sewing this week so I cut out and new boutique outfit out of some Amy Butler pieces.
It's a reversible pinafore with capris to match, size 12 month. The top is truly reversible, and there are three coordinating prints on each side, and both sides coordinate with each other. If I could figure a way to make the pants reversible (and still cute), I would! I put a bit of black ribbon trim on the pants for fun. SO darn cute! I love making these fun outfits, always knowing if they don't sell (who wouldn't want this!?), I can always put them on my own adorable daughter when she gets bigger. The thing I love most about these pieces are that they are one of a kind, and I will probably never make another exactly like it.

Side two:

I'll have this and a few others at the show, so come by and see me! And always, I do take custom orders, for size or material. (Or both!)

New memberships associations

I just got approved for membership in Etsymom, which is a great forum inside etsy for, you guessed it, moms on Etsy. It is great! Shoutout to my etsy moms!!

I also just joined up with CAST, Christian Artists Street Team, also on Etsy. Good to know there are more people like me on Etsy! Shoutout to CAST members!!

And now for a couple of new things:

first time using rick-rack for trim, turned out great!

First attempt at a complex hairbow - also turned out great!

Blankie I made for a friend of a friend. Added shoestrings to the corners because her son likes to chew on those. Love that idea!
